Garden flowers as cut flowers
The Iowa State University Extension Master Gardeners of Mahaska County are offering classes for beginning gardeners to gain the knowledge and skills to be successful gardeners. The classes will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 4, 11 and 18.
Fresh cut flowers and ornamental plants
Flora Egypt Fair is an international exhibition of fresh cut flowers and ornamental plants held at Cairo Fair Grounds. Along with stunning displays, the fair offers meetings and workshops on all horticultural matters, from marketing to future trends.
Master gardener's landscape

Every New Year's Day for the past 120 years, the streets of Pasadena have been lined with flower-covered floats for the annual Rose Parade. It's a tradition that most locals partake in year in, year out.
Different types of flowers
Floral replicas of Agra's famous Taj Mahal and the Egyptian pyramids are attracting visitors to an exhibition being held at the Wesley School Ground in Chennai.
The show opened on Friday and will continue till January 3.
Flower tower & 2,000 Tulips from Holland
A festival of flowers will take place at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi from December 30 to January 3 to cerebrate the New Year and mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. Nguyen Khac Loi, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, announced the event on December 25.
Growing flowers and vegetables, house plant care
The Sandusky/Ottawa County Master Gardeners are accepting applications for master gardener training, which will begin Jan. 27 and continue every Wednesday through March 24. Training hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Garden
the poinsettia show at the Rawlings Conservatory in Druid Hill Park through Jan. 2. Admission is free but a $2 donation is appreciated. The Conservatory is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Allied Waste on regular trash days
Residents can have their trees picked up by Allied Waste on regular trash days Monday through Jan. 2. With Jan. 1 being a holiday, residents whose schedule would normally fall on that day will have their collection day moved to Jan. 2. After Jan. 2, trees can be placed at the curb for pickup during regular bulk pickup days. A schedule for bulk pick up days can be found at the town's Web site, www.flower-mound.com.
Baltimore Conservatory and Botanic Gardens
This year's show at the Conservatory has a Mexican theme, to celebrate the origins of the poinsettia, including a topiary burro, complete with a "Burro's Tail" sedum. The show runs until Jan 3, Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but a $2 donation is greatly appreciated. The Conservatory is closed Mondays.
Flower and Train Show
Celebrate the holiday with the Lincoln Park Conservatory, 2391 N. Stockton Drive, at the Winter Flower and Train Showstarting Saturday,December 12 and running through Sunday, January 10, 2010.
The Winter Flower and Train Show is free and open to all ages. The Lincoln Park Conservatory is open every day of the year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hundreds of poinsettias
Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Park Ave., kicks off the holiday season this year with a spectacular floral display in the Show House on Saturday,November 28 and runs through Sunday, January 10, 2010.

Da Lat Flower Festival
The two largest dragon figures in Vietnam, created from hundreds of ornamental trees, will be unveiled at Xuan Huong Lake at the 2010 Da Lat Flower Festival January 1-4. The program aims to attract more visitors to central Da Lat City, especially for the upcoming Da Lat Flower Festival.
Flower Festival
The programme, which will be held from December 15, 2009 to 15 January, 2010, aims to promote a good image for Da Lat ? to attract tourists to the Da Lat Flower Festival, taking place from January 1-4, 2010.

The District Tourism Board is organising a two-week-long Vagamon Tourism Fest 2009 from December 18 to January 3.
Events such as paragliding, autocross, parasailing, zorbing, zero-gravity hot-air balloon, paramotor, archery, flower show, carnival and dog show will also be held as part of the fest.

The flower show
The Department of Horticulture, Pir Mehr Ali Shah (PMAS) Agriculture University Rawalpindi (AUR), in collaboration with Islamabad Horticulture Society will organise an autumn flower show on its convocation lawn from December 18 to 20.
City blossoms on weekend
National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) lawns to enjoy the annual Chrysanthemum and Coleus flower show.
The two-day event, which began on Saturday, and concluded on Sunday with the prize distribution to the winners, was worth a visit for those with an eye for plants.

Texas State University professor Dr. Tina Cade will lead a Holiday Flower Centerpiece Workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the San Marcos Nature Center.

The Annual Chrysanthemum Exhibition was inaugurated at the Islamia College University on Thursday where 60 kinds of the colourful flower were put on display. Vice-chancellor of the university Ajmal Khan inaugurated the exhibition in the presence senior teachers and gardeners.
Flower Arrangements
A program on flower arrangements for the Christmas season will be presented by florist and former Bergenfield Mayor Richard Bohan at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Bohan, who has more than 50 years experience in the florist business, has been associated with D'Angleo Farms in Dumont for the past 12 years.

The final Lackham Garden Club for this year will take place on Friday.
The session, "A Floral Christmas Workshop - creating festive arrangements", will be led by Stan Rawlings, Lackham's grounds manager.

For those outside the University of Florida's Environmental Horticulture Department, that means it's time for poinsettias. And HC 59B is one of the newest poinsettia varieties, a pretty in bright pink number at this week's 2009 Poinsettia Show and Sale Thursday.

Horticulture students at Marlington High School are putting finishing touches on a collection of holiday wreaths, centerpieces, door swags and grave pillows, saddles and vases which will be sold during an open house Saturday at the horticulture building at 10450 Moulin Ave. NE.
Orchid show
The 2nd Fujian (Nanjing) Hakka Arts Festival & 3rd Zhangzhou Tourism Festival will open in Nanjing County, Fujian Province on 6th December 2009.
A series of supported activities will be held at the festival, such as king of tea selection, orchid show, Fujian Hakka House photography show, calligraphy show and painting show.
Christmas goodies and the floral arrangements
FLORAL fans are invited not to be shrinking violets when it comes to a popular Flower Arranging Evening at Braunton Parish Hall next Thursday.
The charity event will raise funds for St Brannock's Parish Church and feature an evening with Janice Cock, whose flower arranged skills are well known across the South west.

A total of 400 Turkish and international companies will participate in Growtech Eurasia organized by NTSR Fair Company.

1971 war veteran soldier has put up a flower show-cum-sale at Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai residence in Imphal West.

Soroa Orchid Garden
The orchid which is the queen of flowers willb the focus in the event. Cuban orchids and paintings inspired in the queen of the vegetable kingdom will stand out in the first festival dedicated to the flower, to be held in Old Havana, from December 9 through 13.
The festival will show about 25 thousand species of orchids in the planet, surrounded by exhibitions of live and painted specimens of the aristocratic flower.

The Department of Natural Resources reported Monday that individuals age 50 or older are invited to a Huntington County Master Gardeners dried flower craft presentation at the Dec. 7 seniors lunch at the Salamonie Interpretive Center.
