It’s summer time and there's something about a bouquet of fresh flowers that makes our heart happy and cheerful. Be it a romantic bundle of roses or just a simple arrangement of peonies on the dinner table, they add a touch of natural beauty to any corner you put them in. Fortunately, these flower arrangements and bouquets aren’t hard to create at home. All you need is a bit of patience, creativity, basic DIY supplies and a whole lot of love for flowers. So what are you waiting for? We have listed down a couple of DIY cut flower arrangements to try your hands at-

Things you’d need for the DIY

  1. Vase
  2. Shears
  3. Thorn stripper
  4. Flowers of your choice
  5. Water
  6. Preservative solution or bleach
  7. Scotch tape

    Simple Assorted Bouquet:

In this arrangement, you’d be using purple dahlias, white button poms and ‘Early Gray’ roses. These flowers have a really unique colour. All you have to do is remove any thorns or leaves from flowers. Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle, and place them in the water and then add floral preservative. Make sure that your bouquet is about one and a half times taller than vase. Start by placing one or two dahlias or hydrangeas and then add button poms or roses. You can also add greenery by adding ruscus, to maintain balance during the final touch.

    Wild Beauty Bouquet:

For this style, you’d be working with one type of flower and two types of greenery. You can choose one type of flower in two different hues for uniqueness in your creation. Start by arranging the greenery inside the vase. Make sure that the greenery is higher on one side. Once you have added enough greenery to hold the flowers, add the flowers in the centre. We would recommend you to choose roses. To maintain this arrangement, clip the stems a quarter inch and change the water on daily basis.

    Bursting Summer Arrangement:

For this arrangement, make sure your vase is empty. Now place a large leaf inside to conceal the stems. Stretch lines of tape like a grid pattern across the mouth of the vase. Once done, you can start arranging the flowers within the squares created by the grid pattern. The tape will help keep the flowers in place.

    Farm-Stand Arrangement:

This arrangement is all about creating a neutral palette. Start by adding full-faced flowers like zinnias. Now, add delicate cosmos to give the arrangement an airy feel. You can insert darker foliage for depth and if you have access to greenery, add long grasses like miscanthus to add texture and introduce colour balance.

    Lush Bouquet:

These cut flower bouquets are all about pinks and dark reds and chocolate shades. When you place this bunch in a tall white vase, it would make a stunning centrepiece. To create this, all you need to do is arrange some dahlias in a tall vase and then add small flowers like chrysanthemums. You can add a layer of greenery to this arrangement which will lend some texture to you piece.

For these pieces, you can easily arrange for cut flower delivery to your home from any reputed online store. While picking the flowers, make sure you pick the right colours for the season and read about the instructions to maintain the flowers for a longer duration.
