Gardens and plantations are easily reached by exploring the myriad small roads and tracks in Bahrain. Some beautiful flowers grown in the cultivated areas are, Water hyacinth, Lotus, Capparis spinosa, Lantanas, Yellow Canna, Adenium (desert rose), Cactus Flower, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Larskspur, Asclepias curassavica, Cassia, Hibiscus, Carpobrotus flower, Oleander, Orange blossom, Tacoma Stans, Sunflower, Petunias, Violet Flower, Tacumaria, Passiflora, Ixora Chinensis, White Zinnia, Thespesia populnea, Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana, Kalanchoe Delagoensis, Amaryllis and Ixora. But outside the cultivated areas, numerous wild desert flowers also appear, most noticeably after rain, whereas desert shrubs, grasses, and wild date palms are also found.

Daisies, Roses, Jasmines and Sun Flowers are very popularly used by Bahrainis on various occasions.

Facts about Bahrain

• Bahrain, an archipelago of 33 islands, of which Bahrain Island is the largest, is a country in the in the Arabian Gulf offering a blend of ancient and modern civilizations. Skyscrapers share the landscape with majestic mosques, embodiments of Islamic art, culture and architecture.
• Bahrain was the first of the states outside the Arabian mainland to convert to Islam (after they received a letter from Prophet Mohammed). This conversion changed the whole culture of Bahrain.
• As it is in other Gulf States, the Bahrainis keep their social and religious identity and do not mix closely with foreigners except for business. Bahrain is among the more liberal states of the Gulf, though considered conservative by western standards.
• With its highly developed communication and transport facilities, Bahrain is home to numerous multinational firms with business in the Gulf. A large share of exports consists of petroleum products made from refining imported crude.
